The contribution rate

A slice of every qualifying bet is diverted into the pool instead of into normal prizes. That slice is why progressive games generally return less in ordinary play than non-progressive ones. On Bet9ja the slice is 0.2 percent of qualifying stakes.2

The seed value

After a win the prize resets to a guaranteed minimum, called the seed, so the jackpot is never advertised at zero. The Bet9ja seed is EUR 1,000.

Must hit by mechanics

Some jackpots elsewhere carry a ceiling at which they must pay out. Where that applies, the game states the ceiling in its own rules. Bet9ja's published jackpot terms do not state a must hit by ceiling, so do not assume one exists.

Trigger types
