If you've been searching for a Bet9ja referral code, you're not alone. It's one of the most searched betting queries in Nigeria, and for good reason.
Here's the deal. The Bet9ja referral code YOHAIG unlocks a welcome bonus of up to ₦100,000 when entered during registration. That's the maximum sign-up bonus Bet9ja currently offers.
But there's a catch most guides won't tell you about. The code must be entered before you complete registration. Miss that window, and there's no going back.

What Is a Bet9ja Referral Code?
A Bet9ja referral code is a special alphanumeric string that new users enter during registration. It connects your account to a specific promotion or affiliate partner.
Bet9ja's published welcome bonus terms are based on being a new customer and making a qualifying first online deposit, and the Promotion Code field on the registration form is marked optional. Enter YOHAIG at sign-up to register through this guide; the field cannot be filled in after your account is created.
Bet9ja uses several terms interchangeably: referral code, promotion code, promo code, and bonus code. They all refer to the same single field on the registration form. Our step-by-step Bet9ja promotion code guide shows exactly where to enter it.
Referral Code vs Promotion Code: What's the Difference?
This is one of the most common points of confusion. Let's clear it up once and for all.
There is no difference. The terms "referral code" and "promotion code" on Bet9ja are identical. They point to the same input field and activate the same bonus structure.
| Term | Where Used | Same Field? |
|---|---|---|
| Referral Code | Google searches, word of mouth | ✅ Yes |
| Promotion Code | Bet9ja registration form | ✅ Yes |
| Promo Code | Ads, social media | ✅ Yes |
| Bonus Code | Forums, review sites | ✅ Yes |
Knowing this saves you from falling for scams that claim to offer a "special" referral code different from a promo code. For more detail, see our full breakdown of what Bet9ja promotion codes mean.
How to Use the Bet9ja Referral Code (Step-by-Step)
The process takes under 3 minutes. But each step matters: especially Step 4.
- Visit the Bet9ja website: Go to bet9ja.com or use the mobile app.
- Click "Register": Find the green registration button in the top-right corner.
- Fill in your details: Enter your email, phone number, date of birth, and create a password.
- Enter YOHAIG in the Promotion Code field: This is the critical step. The field is sometimes labelled "Referral Code" or "Promo Code".
- Complete registration: Accept the terms and confirm your account via email or SMS.
- Make your first deposit: Stake the full qualifying first online deposit once at 3.00+ and let it settle before sports bonus credit.
⚠️ Critical: You cannot add a referral code after registration is complete. Double-check the field before clicking "Submit."

Common Referral Code Mistakes
Even experienced bettors make these errors. Here's what to avoid.
Leaving the code field blank
Skipping the optional Promotion Code field. It only appears at registration and cannot be added later.
Using expired or fake codes
Random codes from forums often don't work. Stick with verified codes like YOHAIG.
Creating multiple accounts to reuse the code
Bet9ja uses KYC verification. Duplicate accounts are flagged and suspended.
Enter YOHAIG once, during registration
One code, one account, one opportunity. Make it count.
Can I Share My Referral Code with Friends?
But that's not all. Bet9ja's referral system is designed for sharing. When your friends use a referral code during registration, they get the same welcome bonus you received.
But Bet9ja's affiliate referral programme and the registration promo code are two different systems. The promo code field (where you enter YOHAIG) activates the welcome bonus. The affiliate programme, which earns you commissions on referred players, requires a separate application through Bet9ja's affiliate portal.
If you're interested in the affiliate programme, contact Bet9ja customer support for details on eligibility and commission structures.
Using the Referral Code on Mobile
Over 85% of Nigerian bettors access Bet9ja via mobile devices. The referral code works identically on all platforms: mobile app, mobile browser, and desktop.
On the old mobile site, the promotion code field appears on the same registration form. On the Bet9ja app, it's positioned directly below the password field.
📱 The referral code field is available on all Bet9ja platforms: desktop site, mobile browser, old mobile, and the Android APK app.
